Premiere Military Project: Fort Bliss GSAB CAB Hangars,
Helicopter Maintenance Facility, El Paso, Texas, 2010
Project Description: A unique U.S. Army installation located in the city of El Paso, Texas and extending across the border into New Mexico. One of the largest military posts in the United States, Fort Bliss provides anti-aircraft and missile defense capabilities. The BCT-2 Combat Operational Facility consists of eight separate buildings totaling 691,000 square feet. The buildings include helicopter hangars. Project Size: 691,000 square feet Scope of Work: As Lead Commissioning Agent, TMCx was responsible for Fundamental and Enhanced commissioning of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The commissioning team identified and resolved challenges related to controls, make-up air units, and mini-split air conditioners, and worked closely with the design/build team to ensure a quality product for the soldiers. Results: During an early walk-through, our Texas Solutions Team noticed the chiller had been piped incorrectly. Uncovering this issue early saved the project extensive expenses, as well as time.
