Premiere K-12 Project: APS Desert Willow Family School,
Albuquerque, New Mexico, LEED Certified Silver, 2009
Project Description: This project is an alternative program offered by Albuquerque Public Schools. The school was designed so students attend a public school program by combining a half-day of classroom instruction with a half-day of home-based instruction. This unique arrangement helps parents take an active role in the education of their children. Students develop their own knowledge by actively engaging in problem-solving lessons and community activities. The new construction was 27,000 square feet.
Scope of Work: Fundamental and Enhanced Commissioning for all Systems, including geothermal with heat pumps, electrical (HVAC-related), lighting controls, and domestic hot water. Results: This project went smoothly, even though there were several issues (over 20) that dealt with the control system. At the end of the project, all issues satisfactorily resolved through team work and communication. Commissioning Services Provided: Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Smoke Control, Design, HVAC, Fire/Life Safety, Forensic Investigation, Central Plant, Re-commissioning |
