Premiere Hotels-Casinos-Convention Centers Project:
MGM City Center, Las Vegas, Nevada – 2010
Project Description: A joint venture between MGM MIRAGE and Dubai World, City Center is an unprecedented architectural paradigm for the ideal modern city that has the potential to redefine contemporary urban design throughout the world. The more than $8.5 billion mixed-use development, built on 76 acres along the Las Vegas Strip is about 18 million square feet and confirms the cultural and lifestyle revival of city living. The groundbreaking design introduces a dazzling vertical city in the heart of Las Vegas’ sprawling horizontal grid. As envisioned, City Center represents the most significant privately financed project in the United States. Scope of Work: TMCx commissioned sections of the project and our Life Safety division served as the Special Inspection Agency for the mechanical smoke control systems. The extremely fast-track construction schedule and complex life safety systems required a highly skilled and dedicated staff to work round the clock to meet the aggressive completion date.
