Premiere University Project: University of Denver, Nagel Hall
Denver, Colorado LEED registered pending Gold status, 2008
Project Description: Nagel Hall was designed to provide student housing that encourages upperclassmen to remain on campus. The $39.7M, 6-story, 149,729-square-foot hall contains 356 beds and has a dining area on the first floor. The garden level houses offices, counseling, and mechanical rooms. The facility was designed with an energy-efficient heating and cooling system, operable windows, a copper roof made of 90 percent recycled materials, low-water-use faucets, dual-flush toilets, and low-VOC paints and carpet adhesives. Scope of Work: TMCx was hired by the University to perform LEED Fundamental and Enhanced functional testing of installed equipment (chilled & hot water, air & ventilation, plumbing, lighting, and DDC).Responsibilities included: monitoring performance and providing random sampling of TAB work; directing the performance/documentation of Functional Performance Testing; and verifying system compliance and recommending modifications to system design to correct or enhance system performance. We also tracked all commissioning issues and resolutions. Commissioning was successfully completed through a collaborative effort of the project team.
